Day 1

Arrival in Amsterdam

Your magical journey begins with three nights in the evocative surroundings of Amsterdam. Old worlds and modern sensibilities collide in the bike-filled streets to offer an idyllic introduction to Europe.

The most-visited city in the Netherlands brims with world-class museums, canalside cafés, and an easygoing ambience that invites leisurely exploration.

• Start getting to know Amsterdam with an unhurried stroll around the compact city centre, drinking in the picturesque setting and the boundless energy.
• Wander the photogenic De Negen Straatjes (nine streets) of the Jordaan district, then soak up the youthful ambience in the Leidseplein.

Day 2

Full day in Amsterdam

Your first full day in Amsterdam is a chance to discover the magnetic appeal of the Netherlands' tourist favourite.

• Float around the serene canals on a glass-topped canalboat cruise.

• End the day with an amble through the unusual red-light district on your way to dining at innovative restaurants near Dam Square.

Day 4

ICE-high-speed train ride to Frankfurt

It’s time to say tot ziens to the Netherlands with a breakfast of dainty poffertjes pancakes before boarding a high-speed train to Frankfurt. Reaching Frankfurt before evening, your train flashes past Dutch cities and through notable towns of western Germany.

Drop your bags at the hotel and head out to explore the thriving city that showcases different eras of German history.

• Start with a taste of old Frankfurt in the charming DomRömer Quarter, the recently reconstructed old town.

Full day in Frankfurt

Day 6

ICE train ride to Munich

Your tour moves on from Frankfurt to the evocative Bavarian capital, Munich. Fast trains drop you off with three nights to soak up the rich cultural landscape of one of Germany’s most influential cities.

• Start with a roam around the fetching Marienplatz, the city’s historic square.
• Head up the striking clock tower of the 11th-century St. Peter's Church.
• Take in even more skyline views on the Hi-Sky München Ferris wheel.

Day 7

Full day in Munich

Full day in Munich

Start the day with some typical weisswurst sausages in a typical bavarian bakery – maybe with great views on the Marienplatz.
• Watch the city stir into life in the Altstadt (old town) and be there when the famous glockenspiel clock strikes the hour.
• Make time to see the imposing Frauenkirche and marvel at the ornate interior of the Asamkirche (church).
• Journey back to the 18th century at the sumptuous Nymphenburg Palace on the outskirts.
• Continue your Bavarian immersion at the Nationaltheater München, the opera house where Wagner’s Tristan und Isolde was first performed.

Day 9

(Overnight) train ride to Venice

• Cool down with a mouthwatering gelato in one of the city’s many enticing gelaterias.

Day 13

Departure from Rome
