Day 1

Arrival in Munich

There are three nights to experience the Bavarian capital, Munich. It's ample time to see the magical old town, explore past and present in regal palaces and futuristic museums, and enjoy flavoursome beers in a historic bierkeller.

• Once you've checked in, head to the Altstadt (old town) and stop in the photogenic Marienplatz, the city’s historic square.
• Get a sense of the city by climbing the magnificent clock tower of the 11th-century St. Peter's Church.
• Visit the imposing Frauenkirche before admiring the resplendent Asamkirche (church).
• Enjoy our first taste of Bavaria with a stein of house-brewed dunkel beer in the famous 16th-century tavern Hofbräuhaus.

Day 2

Full day in Munich

Having found your feet in Germany, it’s time to experience Munich’s most compelling sights.

• Acquaint yourself with the flavours of Bavaria at the centuries-old farmers market, Viktualienmarkt.
• Take a detour and return to Marienplatz to hear the famous city hall glockenspiel and enjoy the mechanical scenes that play out every morning.
• Load up on stuffed pretzels for unwind with a picnic in the pretty English Garden.
• Ride the Hi-Sky München Ferris wheel for unrivalled citywide views.
• End the evening with some spätzle in a raucous bierkeller.

Day 3

Full day in Munich

The final day in Munich is a chance to combine different eras into one spectacular day.

Train ride to Prague

• After a long journey, head to the romantic old town square for your first view of Prague’s dazzling architecture.
• Munich’s clock was unmissable. And so is the Prague Astronomical Clock, which dates back to 1410.
• Decompress after a day of travel with a plate of roast pork and dumplings washed down with ambrosial Bohemian beer in a traditional restaurant around the atmospheric Staré Město (Old Town).

Full day in Prague

A full day to explore Prague is a time to uncover centuries of history that seep through the cobblestone streets and into its fetching architecture.

• Start by crossing the magnificent 14th-century Charles Bridge spanning the Vltava river.
• Follow the Vltava to reach the gothic Basilica of St. Peter and St. Paul nestled in the 11th-century Vyšehrad fort.

Full day in Prague
